Of Love and Dare

Posted by

Being happily married for quite a long time of my life ,that too an arranged marriage where love does not happen instantly but slowly grows on you with the passage of time ,I do celebrate Valentine’s Day every year with my other half but it never has had any thrill to it.Our Valentine celebrations would be something nice and romantic.Usually a peck on the cheek with wishes for a “Happy Valentine Day” occasionally followed by my favourite chocolates or/and my favourite flowers ,Then the day would proceed as usual , we both would leave for our respective jobs and occasionally we would plan a dinner .With children coming into the picture , sometimes we have been able to stick to our morning routine only .In fact now I recall that last year we did not celebrate it in our usual manner as hubby dear was out of station .We had exchanged pleasantries on phone and wished each other .

Though the guidelines in the Happy hours contest organised by http://cupidgames.closeup.in/  does
mention “crush ” as the subject for the post , but since my Hubby has been my love all through thick and thin , I am going to take some liberty and make him my “crush “.

Coming back to V-day and love , as I said things have been quite placid and I think now is the time to really stir things up and bring a freshness , an excitement and  a thrill to this relationship .True love they say can be read by looking into each other’s eyes , a single touch can say much more than words .But I say , why not shout it out aloud and let the special person and the whole world know that your Valentine means the world to you .So here goes my plan of action for V-day .

My husband is a shy person , a man of few words and fewer still when it comes to expressing affection .So this time I plan to pull out all stops and just play my tune .Well actually I was meaning it literally .Yes , I would hire a band complete with the chariots and the lights and drums and we would wait till it was time for my Husband to leave his office .The moment he would step out into sight ,we would pounce the surprise .The band would start playing and I would ride atop those carriages/chariots and declare my love to him and the whole world , crooning,

Look into my eyes ,
you will see what you mean to me.
Search your heart, search your soul. And when you find me there
You’ll search no more.
Don’t tell me, it’s not worth tryin’ for
.You can’t tell me, it’s not worth dyin’ for
You know it’s true ,Everything I do, I do it for you…”

This  love ballad by Bryan Adams , has been our  favourite since college days .
This ladies and gentleman , would be the unconventional expression of my love towards a truely loving life partner and my Valentine for  this year and all the years to come .
Amen !
