To live Today like there is no Tomorrow

“Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.”– Leo F. Buscaglia(Dr. Love).

This is so true .Worrying kills you slowly ,day by day ,bit by bit.
So wouldn’t it be great if we could live our lives without the burden of worries on our shoulders. The Befikar Umar Bhar H.H. contest on IndiBlogger had asked us to write about top 5 things on our bucket list to do if I was to be  Befikar Umar Bhar(had no worries for the rest of my life).

So here goes my bucket list of 5 things to do if I could live my life without any worries :

1.Speak out against Injustice-I have always had an inner activist within me .Every time I see something wrongful happening in front of my eyes  this inner activist would raise its head to speak out and I would have to stifle the inner voice  saying ,”What if something happens to you ?”After all  sometimes one has to pay the price for speaking  the truth .Look at Teetsa and Javed Anand for speaking up in Gujarat, to give an example .That fear would always  get the better of my conscience and I would look the other way to reduce my discomfort .But if I did not have to worry about my children and their future then I would be able to speak out rather than being a mute spectator every time I see a young girl being eve-teased or any other abuse on the streets even if it could harm me .

2.Travel around the world – My Father had a transferable job and so since my childhood I have developed a penchant to  travel to new destinations and explore and experience new cultures and lifestyles .Now the hectic work schedules and the amount of  money involved does not allow me to travel as much and as far as I would love to .If I did not have to worry about tomorrow I would use all my money for travelling across the globe . After all -“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page (Saint Augustine ).”

    3. Live at a hill station -Every year we North Indians rush to hill stations to escape the heat and grime of the cities .If I did not have to worry about earning for the  education and future of my children , I would buy a permanent house on the hills to live the simple uncluttered life and breathe in the fresh and crisp mountain air every morning when I wake up .I would install solar and wind powered motors around to help maintain the ecological balance of that area because I would hate to increase the carbon footprints for the sake of my self-centered self .

4.Eat my favorite Hot chocolate fudge Sundae everyday – Evenings in summer were never complete without our favorite ice-creams from Nirula’s(that is the only item on the menu that I have ever liked ).As we grew older, in order to keep the expanding waistline under check I reduced the outings for ice-creams to a weekly ritual .But if I did not have to worry about the girth and the ensuing Diabetes associated with it ,I would indulge in my favorite Hot Chocolate Fudge Sundae( or rather make that triple Sundae) every day without counting the calories .

5.Own Nizam’s Jewellery – Have you ever seen the  Jewels of the Nizam of Hyderabad State?I once saw them at an exhibition and was instantly enamored by the dazzling stones and the fine craftsmanship .So while we are on the topic , if I did not have to save for a rainy day I would definitely not mind splurging that money to own a few pieces of the exquisite Nizam’s Jewels .

If you too want to be Befikar , Umar Bhar then get yourself insured at IDBI Federal Lifesurance .See the video below and you will get what I mean .
