Restaurant Review – Al Nawaz (Jamia Nagar )

Posted by

Rocky and Mayur have ventured out to explore food from all parts of India and curate videos on Askme.com  I’m contributing my part by relishing my favorite dishes at Al Nawaz Restaurant and sharing my views with you all !

Hubby Dear had been singing praises of this relatively new entrant in the Mughlai food market .The place was very much in demand during the Ramzan month too .In fact so enamoured is my dear husband that he visits it almost every week to enjoy their famous Chicken Biryani .So this time around we all decided to visit this place and get a review for my readers too.

Address – A-50, Abul Fazal Enclave, Jamia Nagar, Delhi |  9711794455 , +91-11-26984544 ,
                +91-11-26984546

Landmark : Near Police Station Jamia Nagar .

Ambience – It has simple ,clean and understated feel with no music and no paintings.

The restaurant has a seating capacity of about fifty and has an old world Muslim charm to it.

It is the endeavour of Chef Shah Nawaz who has more than twelve years of experience working with leading five star hotels and is now keen on building his own loyal clientele .
The Menu

We were starving so we started with Chicken seekh kebabs , Punjabi Chicken Burra and chicken Kalami kebab which is an Al Nawaz speciality .Another great thing about the food is that you can order half and quarter plates and savour many more different dishes .Also the portions are quite generous .
The starters were excellently done and we were quite happy with them .

Chicken Kalami

Punjabi chicken Burra

For the main course we ordered Dal Kabila ( for yours truly ) and their most famous item the Chicken Biryani .But I requested them to give a glimpse of some of their other famous dishes too and have added their pictures too for interested readers .

Chicken Changezi
Handi  Ghosht
Dal Makhani
We had ordered the  Khamiri Roti (leavened bread) and again they were outstanding and very suitable for polishing off the rich gravies .
They had Hyderabadi Kheer and Rabri Faluda for desserts which we skipped as we were stuffed to capacity .:)

Their famous Chicken Biryani
The mouth watering spread
The courteous staff , Arun who served us on -the extreme left .
The staff was attentive , prompt and very polite .

All in all it was a great experience and best of all it comes at a very affordable price .

A meal for two would only be about Rs 600- 800 at the most .
The restaurant does not serve alcohol .
I know I shall be returning soon for relishing more of the sumptuous food , how about you ?

Final Verdict – The parking can be an issue sometimes otherwise for food i rate it a 4.5/5
